Special Olympics is about sports, but it is also about so much more. For children, youth, and adults with an intellectual disability, Special Olympics becomes a place of welcome -- a place where they will be accepted for who they are and given the chance to be their best.

Your support allows us to continue to provide the programs, mentorship, and resources required by our athletes, coaches, and volunteers to change the lives of thousands of individuals with an intellectual disability across Canada.

Your contribution, no matter the size, will aid us in ensuring that the thousands of children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability who use our programs are able to continue to do so.

For more information about making any of these, or inquiring about other methods of giving to Special Olympics Canada, please contact Daniella Sretenovic at donations@specialolympics.ca or call 1-888-888-0608

Gift of Securities

Donating publically traded stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities is a tax-smart way to support Special Olympics Canada while enhancing your charitable gift. By donating publically traded securities, you eliminate the capital gains tax that would be payable if you were to first sell the stock, and then donate the proceeds.

Donating securities is easy! Simply fill out the "Securities Donation Form (PDF)” below to have your brokerage electronically transfer your gift of stock or securities from your account to Special Olympics Canada’s account. You will receive a tax receipt for income tax purposes for the full appreciated value of your securities on the day that they are received.

Gifts in Kind

Gifts in Kind provide Special Olympics Canada with invaluable office and sports equipment, technology and day to day goods that are essential to run our programs and services in communities across Canada. Some companies also offer their services free of charge: for instance, by printing an event program or providing professional advice. All of this reduces our overhead costs and allow us to spend more resources on our greatest priority: enriching the lives of individuals with an intellectual disability through sport.

In donating a Gift in Kind to Special Olympics Canada, we can publicize to our athletes, families, and our online community the generosity of your gift and your commitment to helping our athletes, of all ages and a wide range of abilities, to participate in programs and to experience the transformative power and joy of sport.
